“EXHIBITION ON GAZI MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK: FROM THESSALONIKI TO ANITKABIR” IS WAITING FOR ITS VISITORS

On the occasion of the 84th anniversary of the death of the founder of our Republic, a photograph exhibition selected from the archive of our institutions which consists of 133 photos of Atatürk, named “Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk from Thessaloniki to Anıtkabir” was opened on November 20, 2022, with the participation of Vice President Fuat Oktay in the Nation’s Library.

The exhibition consists of 3 selections. The first selection consists of 88 photographs and covers the period between starting from the house where Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was born in Thessaloniki with his family and close circles, National Struggle Period, and the Republican Era. The second selection consists of 30 photographs covering the transfer of his body from Dolmabahçe Palace to the Ethnography Museum in 1938. The last selection consists of 15 photographs covering the transfer of his body from the Ethnography Museum to Anıtkabir (Atatürk’s Mausoleum) in 1953.

The exhibition, which includes precious photographs that reveal the military aspect of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, especially his social life and daily life, can be visited between 10 and 30 November 2022.
