Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History Turns 43

Founded on August 17, 1983, with the aim of researching, preserving, developing, and passing on the Turkish language, history, and culture to future generations, the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History and its affiliated institutions, the Atatürk Research Center, the Turkish Language Association, the Turkish Historical Society, and the Atatürk Culture Center, have contributed for 43 years to the scholarly study and preservation of our rich civilizational heritage.

Inspired by Atatürk’s understanding that “The foundation of the Republic of Türkiye is culture,” the Supreme Council continues its work with an important mission to uncover the richness of the Turkish language and history, preserve our cultural heritage, and support the production of scholarly knowledge.

We respectfully remember and express our gratitude to all our scholars and staff who have contributed to this enduring journey of knowledge and culture extending from the past to the future.

Happy 43rd anniversary of the establishment of the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History.
