A Promotional Event Was Held for Gelibolulu Mustafa Âlî’s Work Künhü’l-Ahbâr

A promotional event was organized at the Rami Library for the five-volume publication of the work Künhü’l-Ahbâr, written by one of the prominent historians of the Ottoman period, Gelibolulu Mustafa Âlî. The first three volumes were published in 2020 and 2021 under the editorship of H.E Ambassador Prof. Dr. Derya Örs, President of the Atatürk Culture, Supreme Council for Language, and History. The complete five-volume set was published by the Presidency of Türkiye Manuscripts Institution.

The event was attended by Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, H.E Ambassador Prof. Dr. Derya Örs, President of the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language, and History; Rector of the National Defense University Prof. Dr. Erhan Afyoncu, President of the Turkish Manuscripts Institution Dr. Coşkun Yılmaz, and Prof. Dr. Mahmut Erol Kılıç, Director General of IRCICA (Research Centre For Islamic History, Art and Culture)

During the event, Örs made a general evaluation of Künhü’l-Ahbâr, which stands as one of the most significant works of Gelibolulu Mustafa Âlî, a multifaceted and prolific figure.
