“Prepared under limited means, Yusuf Akyurt’s Resimli Türk Abideleri was a groundbreaking and pioneering work for its time. Despite the passage of years, the value of this work has only increased, and with the meticulous efforts of our Turkish Historical Society, it has been republished. Initially made accessible in digital format, the work has now been published in nine volumes and presented to the world of culture. Thus, it has become not only a reference for researchers, but also an inspiring resource for young people, students, and art enthusiasts.”
In his speech, President of the Turkish Historical Society Prof. Dr. Yüksel Özgen emphasized that the work was part of a large-scale project initiated by the Society to systematically prepare sources from the past for publication. Highlighting that Resimli Türk Abideleri addresses both the academic community and readers interested in cultural heritage, Özgen said:
“It is clear that this collection will make significant contributions to historical research. These projects are the clearest reflection of our respect for the past and our responsibility toward the future.”
At the conclusion of the event, President of the Supreme Council Prof. Dr. Derya Örs presented Resimli Türk Abideleri to Minister of Culture and Tourism Mr. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.
